Job Summary

This role is the primary support for the Category Development Manager in the hot beverage category within the Front of House Category Development team. This team interacts directly with Supplier Partners, Category Managers, Compass Sectors, Foodbuy Committed Members, and works collaboratively with a number of departments within Foodbuy.  The position requires strong analytical skills, along with the ability to project manage with tight deadlines, and effectively communicate complex category strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop tools and processes that help to proactively drive value in contracting, conversion, and revenue generation
• Support Category Development Manager with:
  • Ad hoc analysis, market trends, marketing/communication opportunities and opportunity analysis
  • Development of category plans, joint business plans, and presentations for key strategic supplier and customer partnerships
  • Manage the roll-out, implementation, and communication of new programs or program changes while adhering to Foodbuy processes and timelines
  • Forecast and tracking against budget. This may include income analysis, making forecast changes, researching large variances, or performing any other duties supporting category income drivers
  • Tracking of raw materials and commodity trends for use in negotiations and presentations
• Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications: 

• 1 to 3 years related experience required: experience executing defined projects, performing analytics, and project management are critical to success in this role
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• High degree of familiarity using Excel applications and providing recommended actions based on analysis
• Experience utilizing internal systems such as Ceres, Fort, Bravo, and Power BI
• Business analytics acumen: Clarifies and resolves complex business issues and opportunities by breaking down large amounts of data to determine route causes and recommendations
• Must be adaptable to change and thrive in a dynamic environment.  Drive to learn quickly and cultivating a natural curiosity for the category will help drive success in the team.
