SUMMARY OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service Professionals (CSPs) are TECO-PGS’s frontline source of communication with customers.  CSP’s effectively answer and solve various residential customer inquiries regarding service transactions and electric outages in a friendly and professional manner.

The hourly rate for this position is $14.94 per hour. Upon completion of training/nesting, the rate of pay for Bi-lingual CSP’s will include an additional $1.00 per hour differential.  

The training hours for this position are 9:00-6:00 p.m.  The training is a paid 10 weeks in class. Once training is completed, the shift is based on business needs and seniority.  New hires will work a daytime shift that ends as late as 6:30 p.m.   

For consideration, you must be able to meet the following requirements:

Must be present every day and complete the entire training class as well as meeting the performance and attendance standards which will be defined during class orientation. Tests will be administered throughout training.

WORK CONDITIONS:

The TECO-PGS Call Centers current hours of operation is 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.  This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and may require occasional overtime hours, including weekends and holidays, during storms and other high call volume situations.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of two years Customer Service experience working with the public (such as retail sales, banking, food industry, etc.) is required.

Must have excellent phone presentation and communications skills (possesses a strong customer service aptitude, the ability to stay calm, level-headed and resilient, and have the ability to convey empathy as well as professionalism).  

Demonstrate ability to handle challenging calls in a professional manner.  Experience with resolving customers’ critical situations is required.

A minimum of one year of basic/working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Internet required. 

Applicant must be able to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug test if an offer is made.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Bilingual (Spanish) proficient preferred/plus.
Prefer an Associate's degree in a relevant field, such as Business

EDUCATION:                                                       
High school diploma or equivalent/ GED is required.
