KPMG is currently seeking a Chief of Staff to join our Office of the Chief Economist.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the chief economist as a trusted advisor who has a 360-degree perspective on the economy, the markets, KPMG’s clients, and the firm
  • Help coordinate and capitalize on the Office of the Chief Economist’s (OCE) involvement with numerous high profile external organizations where the OCE is a member or sponsor
  • Manage OCE projects on ad hoc and on-going bases; oversee the day-to-day OCE work plan, review and contribute to deliverables, and help the team upscale its outputs; identify and implement OCE process enhancements and improvements, including adoption of technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Collaborate with KPMG’s business leaders and process owners (e.g., functional and operational vice chair’s) and other firm leaders on behalf of the chief economist on multiple matters; communicating on behalf of the chief economist with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to OCE and broader KPMG thought leadership publication development by infusing it with economic data, analysis and insights
  • Work with chief economist’s executive assistant to manage both the chief economist’s and the OCE team’s calendars; coordinate OCE team meetings including schedule creation, agenda development, content preparation, follow up and accountability for results; assist with monitoring and managing the OCE budget

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ten years of increasing management experience in a large business, government, or professional services firm or similar environment
  • Master’s degree in economics or related field from top university; PMI certification is preferred
  • Proficient at dealing with political situations across a complex organization and can influence others to meet objectives; ability to build relationships, networks, and credibility with numerous constituents; able to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Experience responding to complex inquiries, performing research, analyzing data, identifying potential issues, making a decision, and documenting results/findings to support conclusions; proven track record of results in team leadership, project management, qualitative and quantitative analysis of data and information, and publication of research
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and synthesize large volumes of information to perform due diligence, compare and contrast nuanced fact sets, and recognize subtle differences and similarities in scenarios
  • Able to travel approximately twenty percent
