We are currently searching for a Communications Intern to join our team in Winnersh to support the Internal Communications team, with content for use on company’s channels, and assisting with the effective implementation of a local communications strategy. You will be required to work proactively as part of the team to promote employee engagement across the business. You will be the local communications advisor of the UK management. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Some flexibility is required to cover occasional evening/offsite events when necessary.

 

The head of internal communications is based outside of the UK but will be in permanent contact with you.

 

Key roles and responsibilities

 

·       Working with UK leadership to create and implement exciting internal communications which reflect the full breadth of activities and achievements across the Burgess Hill and Winnersh sites

·       Supporting and coordinating with regional internal and external Communications staff

·       Helping to create and implement the local communication plan

·       Developing and maintaining company intranet, internal social media and digital screens on a daily basis

·       Organising and supporting internal communication events

·       Organising and supporting Employee Engagement activities

·       Proactively sourcing RCUK internal news and communicating it (finger on the pulse)

·       Organising and supporting HR careers fairs/forums events

·       Identifying new internal tools and creating new means of communications

·       Supporting the on-boarding plan for new employees

·       Monitoring the budget

·       Proof-reading documents

·       Writing effective publications and presentations targeting diverse audiences

·       Updating information boards

 

Ideally, you possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

 

·       Experience using Software and Desktop Publishing Tools (Microsoft programmes and Adobe creative cloud)

·       Familiarity with updating website content using a Content Management System (CMS)

·       Digital organisational skills, including computerised file and folder organisation

·       Experience of producing photos, videos and digital images

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

·       Self-confidence, enthusiasm, reliability, flexibility and self-motivation

·       Good attention to detail

·       The ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload

·       Creative frame of mind

·       Strong team work ethic

·       Ability to work at all levels of the organisation

·       Judgement – checking with MD / Sr Management where appropriate
