The OR Technician Service Line Coordinator working in accordance with established procedures, works as part of a team to set up Operating Rooms, assist Surgeons in major surgical services and on complex surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors,etc.

The OR Technician Service Line Coordinator may handle medications in accordance with responsibilities, receives information from the scheduling requests from Physician and/or Physician's Office Staff via the OR Scheduler, determines availability of appropriate surgical suites, equipment and Surgical Services Staff for requested dates/times. Communicates scheduling decisions to Physicians, Surgical Services Staff, Anesthesia Staff, Ancillary Support Technicians and OR management/supervisor. Reviews and updates Surgical Services schedule to accommodate Physician requests for changes in scheduling and Service Line personnel needs.

The ideal OR Tech Service Line Coordinator is someone who knows how to maintain effective communication with patients, staff and physicians; and ensure appropriate protocols with procedures and customer satisfaction.
