Job Summary

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. Facilitates value discussion , providing consultation and perspective to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross- functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for large and complex Services. Contributes to the service roadmaps, Enterprise Project Planning including project definitions and justifications.
  • Responsible for design for Services and Service Offerings.
  • Manages relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve required results
  • Develops systems standards to maintain smooth operation and technical feasibility alternatives to system problems.
  • Provides direction and oversight for highly technical and complex problems on multiple projects, and provides consultative direction
  • Directs and manages implementation and integration of new technologies related to highly technical complex problems and systems.
  • Competent in the understanding and performance of IT Service Management. May perform the Service Manager role.
  • Educates others in the workflow, business processes, and reporting metrics enabled by multiple IT Services across service groups
  • Leads knowledge transfer sessions across organization
  • Serves as an expert and acts as a mentor to employees. Acts as a liaison between applications analyst/programmers and business partners
  • Effectively contributes to team goals. Works beyond routine nature of tasks utilizing a specialized knowledge and technology.
  • Understands day-to-day operations of the business including technology & product roadmaps. Responsible for enterprise systems design, ensuring alignment with solutions and technology roadmaps. Collaborates with architects on new technology needs, assessments and proof of concepts.
  •  Work with our internal customers to gather requirements around Publication and Training Solutions (PTS)
  • Work with our Engineering and Information Technology (E&IT) to ensure the direction and architecture of systems is aligned with E&IT and leverage corporate systems/tools where possible;  Also ensure we are integrated with those corporate systems where needed
  • Work closely with the Publications and Training Systems (PTS)Tools team to develop, test, integrate, and implement systems that are specific to PTS.   

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience.

Must be a US Citizen
