Community Educations Centers (CEC), is a leading provider of residential reentry and in-prison community corrections programs.  Working over 18 states across the U.S., we provide a foundation of support to change addictive and criminal behaviors and effectively prepare our residents for community reentry.  With programming that encompass assessment, drug and alcohol education, family education services for juvenile and adult populations; we are redefining effective means to reduce recidivism.

The Program Counselor will complete  the following tasks:
  • Ensure that all applicable policies and procedures that fall within the scope of the job description are followed and adhered to.   

  • Responsible for understanding and executing the positions responsibilities as described in the Employee Handbook and Company policies and procedures 

  • Complete and maintain all required clinical documentation per the Company policies, procedures Employee Handbook and Contract.  

  • Facilitate Program Modules and Manuals per Company policy and Company contract 

  • Complete case management on each inmate as necessary 

  • Attend all staff meetings 

  • Work toward a certification as a CAP and/or take necessary course to maintain certification on an annual basis 

  • Be available to work all shifts to ensure proper coverage per contract and policy standards 

  • Clock in and out utilizing the company time and attendance policy 

  • Maintain a caseload
 
Education
  • A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences ; and (6) months of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or 

    • A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in any unrelated are of study and one (1) year of professional experience in chemical addition counseling and/or mental health counseling; or 

    • A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in any unrelated area of study and one (1) year of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling
